The great couturiers.
Their models make us dream. They define, collection after collection, the trends of haute couture.
Their creativity combined with the know-how of the seamstresses who make up their workshops have been masterfully covering women for almost two centuries.
It was Charles Frederick Worth who built the foundations of today's couture workshops. Previously, customers ordered to the couturiers, they were craftsmen. He invented the concept of the collection and the sewing workshop: an artist (designer or stylist) draws original clothes, which the seamstresses realize and present to his customers.
We are pleased to present slideshows that present, in twenty photos, the work of these genius creators who have often associated with specialized workshops such as plumassiers, embroiderers, footwear, to perfect their works.
This is a gallery of women and men out of the ordinary. Good daydream!
